Louisiana National Guard Camp Cook WiFi Project
The Louisiana National Guard (LANG) is the armed force through which the Louisiana Military Department enforces the security policy of the State of Louisiana. The LANG serves to protect people, property and resources in times of emergency or disaster; provide military support to civil authorities; preserve order and prevent insurrection; respond to natural disasters and provide humanitarian assistance at home and abroad.
The Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) Academy is located at Camp Cook, LA. LANG required a network implemented at the academy to grant students and staff access to a WiFi internet connection for course work and morale, welfare, and recreational purposes.
AccessAgility designed and implemented a cloud-managed solution that allowed LANG to provide the service while meeting organizational requirements to block inappropriate content.
As part of the implementation, we upgraded the aerial fiber network and connected all buildings with single-mode fiber. AccessAgility built out telecom closets in each building and installed access points (APs) to provide coverage for indoor and outdoor areas. All wiring and equipment installation, inside and outside of the plant, followed the Department of the Army's information technology standards.
The cloud-based management system allowed the IT team to control the wireless network with minimal resources on-site.
AccessAgility is on the front lines of this type of work. Our existing relationship with the US government has allowed us to bring Cisco Meraki WiFi and other IT products and services to multiple government agencies. We’re always looking to bring more service providers to the table. Want to work with us? Reach out here.
